OPKO Health Announces Proposed Offering of Common Stock

MIAMI--(BUSINESS WIRE)-- OPKO Health, Inc. (NYSE Amex: OPK) today announced that it intends to offer and sell $100 million of its common stock in an underwritten public offering. The Company expects to grant the underwriters an option to purchase up to an additional $15 million of common stock offered to cover overallotments of shares, if any. The offering is subject to market conditions, and there can be no assurance as to whether or when the offering may be completed, or as to the actual size or terms of the offering.

Jefferies & Company, Inc. and J.P. Morgan Securities LLC are acting as joint book-running managers for the proposed offering. UBS Investment Bank and Lazard Capital Markets LLC are acting as co-lead managers for the proposed offering and Ladenburg Thalmann & Co. Inc., a subsidiary of Ladenburg Thalmann Financial Services Inc., is acting as co-manager for the proposed offering.

The Company intends to use the net proceeds of the offering for general corporate purposes, which may include research and development expenses, clinical trials, the acquisition of new technologies and businesses and other business opportunities.
