Next-Generation Biologics for Cancer & Infectious Diseases

Multispecific biologics could transform treatment of complex diseases driven by multiple pathways, but progress has been limited by challenges in designing and manufacturing such therapies. ModeX addresses these barriers by using natural protein structures to create adaptable multispecific antibodies.

Learn More About Our Pipeline

Treating
Cancer

Tumor antigen diversity allows cancer cells to evade mono-targeted and combination therapies, limiting effectiveness and increasing toxicity risks. Multispecific therapies target multiple antigens at once while improving control over immune activation.

Combating
Infectious
Disease

Mono-targeted therapies and vaccines often fail to cover diverse viral populations, allowing some strains to persist or evolve. Multispecific approaches address this by targeting multiple strains simultaneously to more effectively halt infection.

Our MSTAR Platform for Multispecific Antibodies

Diagram showing our process allowing us to produce a multispecific antibody by transforming a monoclonal antibody using our modex module library.

MSTAR can reliably and rapidly generate candidates that target up to six distinct biological pathways in a single molecule, an industry first. This dramatically expands the therapeutic potential of antibodies.

  • Inclusion of antibody constant region optimizes immune engagement, prolonged half-life, safety and manufacturability.
  • Simplified gene expression enables efficient manufacturing and facilitates gene-based antibody delivery.
  • Modular design allows rapid testing of numerous combinations of antigen-binding domains to target multiple sites. This assessment maximizes specificity, minimizes off-target effects and improves therapeutic efficacy.
  • Structure-based rational design allows refinement of activity and specificity of multitargeting.

Our Nanoparticle Vaccine Platform

Diagram showing our modular nanoparticle vaccine platform using self-assembling ferritin molecules that can present up to 24 copies of an antigen mounted on a nanoparticle.

Presenting more copies of an antigen to the immune system increases the potency of a vaccine. But existing technologies make tradeoffs between the total number and diversity of antigens, which dilutes their potency.

We overcome these limitations by using a modular nanoparticle vaccine platform built on naturally occurring and self-assembling ferritin molecules. These particles present a 24-strong array of each antigen that is optimally sized to reach immune cells in the lymph nodes.

The versatility and potency of our approach enables us to tackle many major infectious diseases that have eluded effective vaccination due to their continual evolution and immune evasion.

In vivo CAR-T and Gene Delivery Platform

ModeX is building a new kind of CAR‑T therapy that helps a patient’s own body manufacture cancer‑fighting immune cells. Using antibody‑guided lipid nanoparticles to deliver CAR instructions directly to T cells, our in vivo CAR‑T platform is designed to simplify treatment, enable repeat dosing and potentially expand the reach of cell therapy to more patients with cancer or autoimmune disease.

Traditional CAR-T can take up to 4-12 weeks for treatment and can cost up to $375-475k per treatment. ModeX In Vivo CAR-T is an off-the-shelf single product that is simple and cost effective.
